I am considering buying a one tooth smaller front sprocket to combat the lack of low end, and I was wondering if it puts too much strain on the chain being on such a small front sprocket (less teeth holding onto the chain)? I had a smaller front sprocket on my predator and I had a chain snap on me that was otherwise well maintained and had very minimal lateral sag! I DONT want this to happen again!!!

I think you'll be aright. Just use can-ams 13 tooth spocket and you wont have any problems. Its right on the accesseries website.

Thanx Jard, and yes Mark, lack of low end! I'm not slamming it at all, I love mine, but EVERY review you read says the same thing.... Lack of Low End power.

As for with a pipe and filter, it probably does help it a lot, but for now a 19 dollar sprocket may be what I'll try.

What EVERY review calls a quad with no low end power I call a restricted engine. Once properly tuned the DS lacks power nowhere. My point is, if you pay $6000 for a new bike why not uncork the engine instead of trying to get by on a $20 sprocket.

Like I said.... I understand a pipe and tuning will help.... but you are seriously saying.... "why spend $20 when you could spend $800 and do it right" No crap I want to do it right, but I spent over $14000 on these so I don't really have $1600 more to pipe and command them!

I will be piping and tuning them but it'll be a little while!!!

Why did you pay $14,000 for it. But I'm with you on trying out the new sprocket. Your only going to a 13t right? It definately shouldn't matter if you are only dropping one tooth. Its when you get into 12t or 11t when you start having probs.

I paid 14000 for THEM. My wife rides too so everything costs double. One pipe means two pipes to me. One power commander means two power commanders.... see what I mean.

Don't get me wrong, not complaining, I'm lucky my wifes into it.... Believe me!!!

Got it. Though it is nice that your wife is into it too. I wouldnt recommend the 18's unless all you are doing s track. When I had my 18's on my ltr, I would get hung up on EVERYTHING!
