I am trying to put the cr500 linkage on my 88 250r. I have been having a good time of it until it came to the upper mount.

The measurement I have comes no where near what it looks like on the diagram. According to my frame the upper shock mount will appear lower then the top of the frame. Maybe if someone has time can they measure the mount height from bottom frame leel to the mount center bolt. According to the diagram it should be above the stock frame height. I'm not good at posting picts here so they may not come out.

Hi, this is a bit of a long shot but just wondering if you could help me out. I have just started to mod the rear of my 89 to run cr500 link. I already have the Walsh swinger, the shock and linkage ready to go. I thought I could just wing it and it would be very obviouse where everything goes but I am very concerned about the bottom linkage mount position, if I get it wrong buy even 1/8" it makes a lot of difference. I have been trying to read the drawing you posted up but just cannot make out what the measurements are. If you could make the measurement clearer and scan and e-mail the drawing or just let me know the position/measurement of the bottom linkage mount that would be brilliant and a great help. My e-mail is spiers74@gmail.com
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help with this?

These frames that run the 500 link r way different than a stock r this mod may not work unless you modify the all the rear of the chassis

Thanks for the info there. I realize the after market frames most likely have different geometry. It's just I have heard of guys doing this mod in the past and seeing if someone would chime in with some measurements or clarify the measurements of the sketch in the first post, just to take some of the guess work out of it. Otherwise its the old tack it up trial and error. Any info appreciated.

If u do get the right mount position the stock frame is going to come apart this link is made to work with chromoly frames which are a lot stronger Ur asking for trouble or should I day its more trouble than its worth call Walsh and order a chassis

Walsh frame shipped to Oz, not an option. Are you able to take a measurement of the bottom link mount on your frame? Then I can see if it will work for me.

Do you know anyone with a YZF450R ? They are very similar to the CR500 linkage and setup. :D

He was on this site. His screen name I believe was GOTFEAR but I could be wrong. He ended up switching to a lonestar frame and maybe even a crf. But dont quote me on that.

Laeger made two stock frames with the cr500 link installed. Last time is saw one was years ago. I think Greg little had one.
