Swingarm pivot bolt removal

The nut is removed and the bolt can spin inside the frame and swingarm. However, the bolt will not slide out. I've beat the snot out of the bolt with a 2x4 and sledge hammer, but it will NOT MOVE. Suggestions :confused:

did you try spinning the nut back on so it's flush w/ bolt end and wacking it that way w/out a wood piece in between??

Yeah, no dice. I'm at the point of just cutting the darn swingarm off and finding a used one on ebay :mad:

It's probably bent. It can still spin inside if it is, once you get it apart you see. you will have to beat the snot out of it to get it out, but if it's bent the swinger tube is what bent it anyway. Look close at the front tube,Usually on the right side just under the chain. If so cut it and look for a square tube.

Do not cut the swing arm......... the bolt is seized to the sleeve that it goes thru between the bushings. I used a air chisel with a punch on it get the bolt head out fare enough to cut it off with a sawsall or cut one or both sides at the swingarm and take it out then it will come right out ....... lol. Been there done that. Then the ears that hold it to the frame are bent out check them before you paint or powdercoat the frame......... word of experience (from all the hammering).

The swingarm pivot bolt was no match for my sawzall and grinder

The bolt was seized to the long spacer inside the tube.

No I haven't talked to him. I'm gonna keep this build fairly simple. No engine mods now, just chassis & suspension. My son (will be 8 this year) is just getting used to this 90.

Even bone-stock it's plenty fast for him now. In fact, I want to gear it down and take away some top-end speed.

I have lots of brakes, axles, front hubs, rear carriers, motor and cvt componets, frames, plastics, seats and other misc for Predator 90's. I had 5 of them at one point and am now down to just one.

Everything is going great! Dave tells me you are working on some new stuff. Sounds really good.

OK here is the "Red" Predator swing arm, and then some misc parts. I think it is 1" longer than a stock Scrambler arm. I just don't know if they added the 1" before or after the shock mount. I believe the predator axles are 2" wider than the stock Scrambler also. But the wider 1" wider a-arms, swingarm and axle would be the same as the "Scrambler X" that was out for just under a year before the Predators came out. The Pred frame is slightly different than the Scrambler X also, a little beefier with extra rear bracing.

I need one of those rear brake drums.

Also, I see some disk brake components in your pics. Are all the parts there for a front disk setup on my Scrambler?

I measured my stock swingarm and it looks like the shock mount is 5" on center from pivot tube. It looks like the red swingarm in your pic has the same dimension as mine. How much for that red swingarm?

I also need a swingarm pivot bolt and spacer sleeve, and a rear brake cable with the bracket & spring.

Please give me a price when you can.

Joe, they are the single a-arm setup with stock Scrambler spindles.

if you went with a dual A-Arm setup , you could have bought a used set of Honda 400EX hubs. spindles, calipers and master and had the new dual A-Arms setup for the Honda hubs and spindles. you can buy a kit for the rear to be hydraulic disc.

If you decide to go that route get your 400 front stuff from GDH racing he's got the best cleanest stuff on e-bay. That's were I got my front stuff and oil cooler. And get a duel a-arm set from Dave Carter.

Dave's stuff is Outstanding, He puts alot of time and effort into each project he is involved with. No matter what dave fabricates for you it Always turns out better than expected.

Yeah.... Dc wants some pics of the front end before it gets all the Mt. Morris, PA mud on it this weekend at High Point. We were hoping to have it done in time so he could practice on it before he had to race ...... but Ooo well. He's never raced a shifter before.... and he's worried about the holeshot.... I told him just go out and have fun you'll get the hang of it.

He has been very fortunate to have won alot in the last five years..... I told him this year my be the year you learn how to loose..... but that's fine it will make you a young man. He knows he's my favorite horse if he never wins a race.

Yeah I've ran his stuff for two years now and have talked to him on the phone a bunch..... I'm really looking forward to meeting him at High Point.
