What is the difference between an 86 and 87-89 stem bushing? The clamps are the same for all years.

I ordered one for an 86, what showed up was a rubber type bushing with a split down one side. What I have on the quad right now is a two-piece hard nylon/delrin type bushing. There is also a molded in "ring" around the bushings, the new bushings "ring" is also slightly narrower.

i have the first type you described on my R. It works just fine. I never had one problem with it. I also put a little grease on the inside of mine to help the stem turn smoother, I can tell a difference in it with and without it.

is most likely a Hinson aftermarket. I dont think there is a difference with the stock OEM's. I have used both with my build and a rand new OEM fits and feels better than the Hinson. My .02
