I have a question for you guys? (Brute Riders). What is the top speed that you guys have got your quads up to? I have a 2008 Brute, My top speed was 68 mph, and I weighed 332 lbs, and had stock rims and tires. But now it is 66 mph, I have lost 50 lbs in the last 4 months, so I thought that maybe the wight lose would increase my top end, the say that every 10 lbs is a horse Power. But then I also put a set of ITP SS 108s rims on, and a set of Big horn tires. When I was putting the new Rims and Tires on I noticed that they were a lot heavier than the stock ones. Do you guys think that the extra wight could knock 2 mph off the bike or do you think something else is up? Thanks Brute Rider.

Bigger tires change your gearing and you might not be able to go as fast. The wieght definitly has an effect also.

And if you are going by the speedo on the bike If the tires are a different size than the stock ones it will throw it off

Which 450, about how far would you say it took for your 06 brute to hit 75? I been running my on about a 1/2 mile strip of old paved road by my house. Brute Rider

Thanks for the info guys, I will try to find a longer stretch of road and see what happens, my bike is street legal ,so it shouldn't be to hard to find. Brute rider.

08 650 brute force...i weigh 180 and got it to 74 on stock tires and rims, with dyna tech CDI, then let off, idk if she had a few more or not, race was over the other guy was 300 yards behind me by that point! with the ITP rims and Mudlites you can take around 10 mph off....

I have a 07 BF 750. I have had it up to 78 acording to my guage. Now this was with the machine totally stock. It did take me a while to get up to that speed, prob a half mile. I still felt like there was a bit more in her, but I had to back it down since we all know how well balanced the tires are haha. I weigh about 250lbs, and my quad had nothing on it. I was riding along some friends who have similar machines and they were all pushing their limits on their quads as well, one of the guys who was right behind me said he was up to 76.
I then put on 27inch ITP Mudlites XTRs, and tried to do the same thing, but my guage would only get up to 68. I did how ever fell I had more power left in her, but with the new tires/rims, the quad started doing the front end shake. I didnt really feel like loosing it doing 68, or how ever fast I was doing. My friend who I was side by side with said he was doing 74 acording to his machine. I do know that once you put on bigger tires/rims it is going to change the speed ratio.
One of my friends had his BF 750 Jetted, added a mod kit, and other expensive mods told me he toped his quad out at 91. I find that VERY hard to believe, but he is a good mechanic and knows his stuff. Good luck guys, and If anyone ever gets their quads up to some impressive speed like my friend "claimes" to have done. I would love to see some video on it. You wont catch me doin that. I was nervious wiping out doing almost 80. Its one thing to wipe out falling from a steep hil, or jumping. but doing over 70 on ashfalt, No thanks.

the wheel/tire weight has a big effect on speed.. with my old 750 std bore kit i could only get around 78mph with ITP ss112 wheels and terracross 25" tires.. i put the stock wheels and tires on and i hit 80, then after i realized i was in 4x4 and switched it to 2wd i hit 82mph.. rotating weight is a big power killer.. i should be in the low 90s now with the 820 kit, but i didnt get a top speed run in yet..
