View Full Version : how to take out plastic bolts

My son has a 250ex and the plastic bolt things that hold the plastic on are bending when i try to take them out.Is there any better way to take them out?

If they are the same ones as a 400ex...use a small flatblade screwdriver and gently insert it in the small opening at the top side of the plastic part. turn the screwdriver sideways and it will pop up....they are 2 pieces and lock together once pressed together...hope it helps ya:p

i also found that they dont bend if u use 2 screwdrivers to pop them up.

The best trick i've found is that you go to your honda dealer and order a whole bunch of them. Then you just rip the f***** things off and it makes you feel better when you do it. They aren't that expensive and they are great stress releivers!:D

Use dikes or wirecutters same thing I guess,,just dont' squeeze them to tight and cut them in half,,but it works perfect..:D

I use the flathead screwdriver trick, but it's still kinda hard on the soft plastic. I've fubarred more than my share of those things, so I just bought fifty of them from Service Honda @ .15 a piece.
