well today i was looking through some of my old atv sport magazines and saw the quadracer 450 vs. pv 330r article. in the first drag the 330 won by 10 lengths, then they took airbox lid off, baffle out, and cherry bomb on the quadracer. they re-did the race and the quadracer wins by 7. WTF!!! i would think that the race wouldve been the lt450 closed in by maybe 5-8 lengths but gaining 17!

i hear everyone say'n a 310, hell even 265's, will beat 450's so is this just BS?

then they brought in 3 more quads and the 330r was behind a banshee with just pipes!!!

that whole article sounded like bs to me. This was brought up on another site, the general consensus was that something must have been wrong with the 250r. If I remember it correctly, they compared that 330r to the ktm576 stroker/big bore quad that a person built and it was close, not a slaughter like the 330r vs lt450r was. I had a atc330r, it would hand alot of bikes their *** in drag races, banshees, 450r's. Mine wasn't even setup for dragging, low-mid carb, low-mid pipe, low-mid reeds and the 330 clyinder was ported for low-mid. My atc now, lrd 295pv will beat, but I think that low-mid and torque on the 330 is better. Keep in mind, I have a top end carb, mid range reeds, top end pipe and pv clyinders are usually ported for more top end, as the pv does the low end from you.

I had an 07 ltr with those mods and there is no way it would out pull a 330r, it wouldn't even out pull my stock bore ported R built for top end.

There's just no way.

Here's a real life situation:

I was at the Badlands in Attica and I raced a pretty pig selection of quads down the main road, all at the same time.

There was a Z400, two Honda 450s, a Yamaha 450, a modded Raptor and and an LTR with a Yoshi pipe, Cherrybomb, and filter with lid off. The Rappy had everything except for a big bore - He had hi comp, cams, everything.

I had the stock jug, ported, RAD valve, FMF, UNI filter.

It was close. The Raptor won by a couple of lengths, followed by the LTR, and I was right next to the LTR but still behind it by a few feet. All of the others pulled off and quit because there was too much roost.

There's no way in hell I could have beaten a 330PV with my stock jug at all, so there's no way in hell that 330 lost to the LTR by 17 lengths. The article is crap.

If I rember there was one little sentance in the artical that said "if you over heat a Wiseco piston once (on the 330R) you will loose lots of power". I read that as "we had a light seizure on the 330 but kept running it anyway and thats why it was suddenly sucking ***." I laughed myself when I read that artical the first time. I couldn't believe they wanted to promote 4-strokes that much as to cover up the fact the 2 stroke had to have a blown engine in order to beat it. By the way the 330R in the artical was almost a clone of mine at the time.
