The strength of a stock axle is not really why most MX racers replace them. It's the added width of the aftermarket that most replace them for.

If you are running stock width front end, I would wait until you have a wider front before you do anything to the rear.

hhmmm... never heard of them bending that easy. what about team industries axles? they're supposed to be really strong.

They have a lifetime warranty. Why wouldnt you buy one? Bend it, get a new one.:D

I run extended hubs from g-force on my 400ex. They add 3 1/2" of width and only cost around $90. I've cased a fifty foot gap hard twice and my stock axle hasn't bent yet.

something was deff wrong with his axle or the way he landed couse i had 2 g-forces, 1 i did bend in time, but the other was 1/2 a season old and i never bent it. and yes i did jump over 45ft

i will deffinitly look into the g force axle
and wat about those wheel spacers? would it just be easier to get an axle ?

I would look into an axle, not wider hubs or wheel spacers. I thought I remember seeing (on here) that you could get RPM or Lonestar for around $300 if you're worried about G-Force, but I had good luck with mine on my HEAVY ;) raptor. Otherwise, just pick up a used one; you can find some good deals in the for sale section.

I have a laeger axle on my bike and it has proven to be very strong. It is about 50 bucks cheaper than the RPM and LSR.

but does it have a lifetime warrenty on it?

Just so you know Lonestar, RPM, Durablue, and G Force all warranty against bending and breaking. You can go to their sites (G Force is rocky mountain) to get the specifics on the waranties. I'm not sure about any other axles though.

Yup, just like RPM and LSR. ;)

Axle's are tricky. If the metal is really soft, the axle bends easy. If the axle is made of to hard metal the axle has a higher breaking point, but instead of bending, they just SNAP. Honda has found about the perfect middle ground on the stockers and I wouldn't ditch mine for the world.
