Here we go again.... Big Guns are good exhaust, but there are much better as in power, and also better as in power gains there is a thread around ehre somewhere of sound clips of them.

I had a Big Gun Evo X on my Mojave, and I really liked it. It seemed to be high quality, looked good with the grey can/red tip, and had a removable quite core and race core. I would probably put on on my 400 if it didn't already have a pipe.

"here we go again" is exactly the thought that went through my head b4 i even clicked the thread. i have been here for a few yrs now, and there are sometimes 3 or more threads about "which exhaust do i choose?" on any given day, and there is always at least one new one here every day. it just gets old. there are so many threads on this topic that it is almost too easy to search up...

Why should you search it up? There's always at least one thread about it on the page at all times....:blah:

yes thats exactly what they are for. some people dont like when the same question gets asked many times. it is a very repetitive question on here, but i figured others would give you a break since you only have 2 posts here.....guess i was wrong.

to answer your question. a lot of people like curtis sparks, hmf, and yoshimura. i have fmf and like it well.

the main thing is how much are u willing to spend on a pipe

sorry, if i came across snobish. i had noticed that you were new to the site, then i wouldnt have acted that way.

first things first, welcome to the site.

second, i would say that the best pipes are yosh, sparks, hmf. there are a couple other good ones. i would stay away from fmf and white bros. neither of them are that great. i chose the yosh full system for mine because i heard nothing but good things about them, i liked the way they looked, and the price for a full system is much much less than any other full system available.

i love the way my yosh sounds compared the the hmf. i am not someone who is bothered by noise, but the hmf is raspy and obnoxious IMO, and it is annoying. the sparks has a comparable sound to the yosh, and the yosh is nice and deep sounding. not obnoxious, just a nice deep tone

hmf, sparks

DMC Alien, Duncan dual-barrel, Sparks.

In the dyno's, the DMC compares to the sparks, and is the second highest power rating next to sparks. only different by like .3 hp

Give me one good reason why you would stay away from FMF.

We've ran FMF on all of our 2-strokes in the past. I was even going to buy one for my 400ex until i found the DMC.

I think they are one of the smoothest sounding pipes on the 400ex. Not raspy at all, real real smooth. Makes it less obnoxious.

Yeah I didn't like any of the WB pipes either. The sound did nothing for me besides annoy me. Usually the Honda's have a real deep tone and the WB pipes pretty much ruined it IMO.

HMF if my favorite pipe. It comes in many color, different end caps, has a spark arrestor, you can buy the quiet core, it makes HP and torque gains up there with Curtis Sparks, sounds nice, great prices, good quality. IDK how you can beat them with all of that. They are pretty loud but I wouldnt trade it for anything other than a Curtis Sparks. I had a white brothers E - series. It was alright but nowhere near the gaisn I got with HMF. The E - series yeah there was a power gain but barely 1 at all. The HMF made it stand up easier and accelerate quicker.

I would buy a Sparks Racing head pipe and try and rig up a Rossier can. Its too bad they don't make Rossiers for the 400ex.

i myself had bad experience with the exhaust...

i know others who did not get the power gains from the pipe that they can get with other systems, and my local performance shop also advises against them...one more thing, talk to a number of people on this site...many tend to shy away from wb

i would run nothing but fmf on a 2 stroke, i have heard quite a few bad things about them on the fourstroke side of things. i know they are a huge company and sponsor factory teams and wut not, but i would stay away from them if you are looking to purchase for a four stroke...JMO

I had an FMF on my blaster, my dad has FMF's on his banshee, my cousin has FMF's on his, and they are by far my favorite 2-stroke pipe ever. I was actually thinking of trading my T5 pipes for FMF's, but I wanna see how i like em first.
