I am trying to figure out the shipping costs for my full set of plastic I'm selling. I brought it into a UPS store and they figured it would be $140 to ship them:eek: This doesn't sound right to me and I know I'll never sell them if it really is that much. Any suggestions to what I should do? How much has it cost for you guys to ship plastic before? any input would be appreciated.

I paid 150 a year ago, using their box. So with fuel charges these days I'm surprised it's so cheap!

I think if you bubble wrap them its like 100 bucks cheaper. Not positive though....

Yup this is the way to go. UPS charges you so much because it will require a giant box to ship the plastics ;)

FedEx charged me $45 to ship my front and rear. I went by a furniture shop dumpster and got a big box.

I just don't know if I would trust that though, it doesn't seem like it would get the same protection as a box would give if something was put on top of it or landed on it. I wonder if it would be cheaper to send it in two smaller boxes opposed to one big box?

try fedex or dhl. i wouldn't ship in bubble warp either. this is coming from some one. who has shipped 2 sets of plastic. i paid 75 bucks at the REAL UPS. not there stores. make sure you got it in the smallest box possible.

Did you use your own box or did they pack it for you?

i used my own box. it was a air conditioner box. but take it rate to the ups. where they store the trucks etc. they should have a public shipping area. mine did any way.

I shipped a full set of banshee plastics before for around $35 if memory serves me... and most recently a full set of maier race plastic for a 400ex, front and rear and a seat cover for $15-$18, I didn't ask questions when I heard the price! :chinese:
