440 to a 416

i have a 03 440 and want to build a 416 i have a stage 2 hot cam white brothers header and R4 pipe i am ordering 12.5 to 1 piston my question is how come people are going with smaller compression pistons and is a 12.5 to big . any sugestions on this subject would be very usefull

I ran a 12.5:1 416 with stage 2 cam for years and loved it. Everyone wants lower compression so they dont have to mess with race gas and so they dont have to worry about heat issues. I ran 110 octane and never had a problem with heat. Get HD head studs, they will at some point pull out.
