I have had problems with my 400 when I change gears. When going from say 2nd to 3rd; it will go to third and pop back into second. This mainly occurs in 2nd 3rd or 4th gear. Anyone have a fix? I havent noticed it when it is cold--just after it warms up. I run Castrol gtx 20-50 in summer but it did it with Honda Gn4 also. Thanks for replys!! Mb

sounds like you might have some tranny problems.possibly a shift fork or a bent neutral stopper arm.have you missed a shift and tried banging it again without letting the revs go down?its pretty hard on a tranny when this is done.

that happened on my 80 it would go outta neutral all the time into 1st gear it was that shifting fork cost me like 150$ to fix it and alot of time had to slip the cases. i did it myself.

My friends Raptor got out of the shop a few months ago because of this. His shiftin fork was bent. This seems to be the most practical cause.
