the tecate is a 250 2 stroke if i'm not mistaken...
a stock Tecate is a 250cc 2stroke, that motor pictured in that there Tecate would be a Kx500 dirtbike motor

Having that blue motor in those LT's has to be one of the coolest things I think... I wish my engine was red or blue...

I miss seeing my neighbor come roosting down my gravel driveway on his LT. Man those were the days. LTs are awesome, but alot of maintenance, I saw him blow his top end at least 2 or 3 times, but they were fast as ****. I was so used to working on them, I had an LT230 and knew that thing like the back of my hand, then helped a friend build an LT250R, that was fun.

Here's my old tecate that I miss tremendously. Put a lot of time and $$$ getting it like that.

I wasn't sure what I wanted but I knew the tecate was a little high strung for where I ride. I should've kept it as well as gotten the 400 though. I sure miss the hit of that two stroke. Would be cool once in a while but I like the 400 for the trails. I am actually gonna start a 250R project, using an Arens chassis. This will be my weekend racer.

if i am not mistaken, that tecate on the first page used to belong to a guy that i talk to on aol, i think he was a member here. His screen name is killerkx327 , if that is his which i am pretty sure it is, he had a lot of motorwork done to it and he sold it for a pretty good price, i wish i had bought it!

slick, you are correct sir. those pics do not do it justice. it was soo much sweeter in real life, and it was deadly fast. he sold it for 7 grand somethin. i was so mad when i found out, cuz it was my dream quad. hes got some new projects up his sleeve tho.

Here's a picture of my 91 quadracer that I raced in the D-11 XC series from 2000-2003. Finishing 7th, 6th, and this year 4th in the 2-stroke class. I've since sold the quad a couple months ago and now own a GasGas 300 and a Cannondale Speed. The nickname that the other racers called the machine was Old Blue.

ok thanks alot. is it really fast??

I'd guess at a top speed of 80-85 mph with my 22" rear tires on it.
I don't have a long enough straight away to find out. I can just get it into 6th gear when I run out of room. I'm planning on dropping the front tooth down one do to the fact I run 22" rears instead of the stock 20" ones. Plus who needs to go that fast in the woods? Not me, that just means I'll hit a tree or another quad going that fast. Not a good thing.

yea, juggalo, before he sold it i was like in love with that quad, i didnt even know he had it for sale until like a few weeks ago when i talked to him and i asked him how his tecate was doing. I would have sold both my 400 and 300 for that quad:mad: it was my dream quad also. Sooo sad:(
