My bike had a K&N in it, its totaly shot, not even going to buy a new one. I have this airbox in my bike.

So I am thinking I want to put a 2stage Uni in there to try something else, In order to get the K&N in/out, I have to totaly take apart everything in the box just to gain access to the air filter to clear everything.

Is there a lil bit shorter K&N one?

Also, on my box, My negetive was grounded to the frame by the seat latch, Can i relocat it in the box instead? Anyone got any pics where to do it at? Im all about neatness and stuff.

I think the Uni is longer. I had a thread like this before and the guys told me a white bros power filter is shorter than a Uni and I think they filter better than a K&N. I'm not sure how to change the negative post though, because mine goes to the seat latch.

Ya, I routed mine there to, but was wondering if i could put it somwhere else, so the wire doesnt come out of the airbox so i can make a lid for it.

K&N with an outerwears on it works really good for filtering. I will say this though if you are in a ton of dust and your lid is open the outerwear will stop MOST of it but not all of it. I highly recomend the outerwear air box cover in addition to when running open air box. I noticed dust in my intake boot but it was before the bend and there was nothing after the bend or in the carb. Even a properly oiled K&N with an outerwear and no air box lid will let fine dust in thats why I said if your doing this with no lid get the cover too for added assurance. Foam filters do stop a lot but it also stops the flow and when it gets dirty it loses a ton of flow and they are a pain to clean. I still choose a K&N over other filters.

I have to find some thin, hard foam to line my new battery, anyone got an suggestions where i could pick up some? Wallyworld?

It just needs alittle TLC is all. Get off your lazy arse tear that thing down and paint it, it's not to hard granted that the dreaded swinger bolt comes out fine plus it's alotta fun tearing it apart and you get rewarded at the end.

Just a tip, the rust would'nt be there if you just take a minute or more and thoughly wash and clean it, not trying to sound like a *** but its proper quad care.
