scrambler 500 ball joints

buddy of mine has just bought a 2000 scrambler 500, on the inside of the front tires there are wear\ worn through marks on the rims, to the point where its leaking air through, the ball joint seem tight, wheel bearings are good, what is going on\ causing this, the ball joints are whats rubbing, but cant seem to figure out why? any help or suggestions would be great! thanks

the balls joints get worn over time and need to be replaced

there is a little cup in the bottom of the strut that they sit in. There is also a grease zerk right there to keep them lubed up.

if they dont stay greased they get worn down allowing them to travel more. also check your tie rods and that the camber of the front wheel is correct.
