I always get a lot of people intrested about this place, and asking me the next time we go up if they can tag along.

Well, heres a thread with a bunch of information about it.

Note: We talked to owner. He stated, "I know you guys ride here, and I can't stop you, so I don't mind if you do. Two things though, do not touch the equipment or machines, and if you get hurt, I never gave you permission to ride here."
So, the mans nice enough to say that, please be respectful of his equipment and what he said if you do decide to take a trip up to ashland.
If you get hurt, it is not his responsibility. All it takes is one jerk to wreck, then sue the coalmine and ruin another good riding spot.

Note: It is very easy to get lost here. Always try to find a local riding near you when you get there to show you around some.

Now, onto the coalmine.

Play Areas
At the entrance we go to, you enter a little play area. It has rooster hills, play hills, jumps, and such. There are more throughout Ashland.

Silt Pits
These are similar to sand, but a little thicker. There is a much bigger one than this a little further ahead that has hills on the side. (Note: Don't go near the pond at the end. Even if your close to it, your bike will start to sink.)

Abandoned Town/ Underground Coalmine Fires
This town was abandoned a long time ago when the underground coalmine fires started. Some people still live there. The movie silent hill was based off of here. There is one main abandoned highway with smoke pouring out of the ground.

Hill Climbs:
These boys are bad! They are loose slate all the way up. Forget about it unless you have a banshee or 450 of some sort. You'll never make it up with anything else.
