It's possible but you'll need DC power for HID. They won't run off AC.


I just use battery powered HID's mounted to my helmet.

Most HID lights are not grounded to the casing, so it's possible to just tap off a single lead from your power, convert it to DC, and use it to run your lights without actually converting your ENTIRE system to DC.

I'm thinking about doing that, but I haven't made up my mind which would be more beneficial as a tutorial. An entire system conversion, or just a single lead? (not to mention, the actual cost of buying the lights is also causing me to delay ;) ).
