So i tore my carb apart twice today and cleaned it twice but i still have the same problem when it is in neutral and i give it gas to full throttle it bogs. I put the fuel screw out between 2.25 and 2.5 turns out. I cant figure it out. The bike is all stock except uni filter and the jets are stock. Any help would be appreciated! Also does anyone know where i can get the oil filter cover screw?

I'm by far not a jetting expert, but I'll through in my .02

The change to a uni-filter should have you sucking in a considerable more amount of air, so when you stab the throttle from idle and it sucks in more, you may be running the mixture to lean.

Do you have the stock filter? If so, put that back on and see if the problem goes away. If it does you know that you need to adjust the jetting, check your plug.

Regardless, you should put a new plug in it and do a plug check to make sure the mixture is right.

Good luck

Like RaginRedneck said I'd do a plug check. It almost sounds like ur runnin rich though. Does it have alot of poppin or does it just bogg. And check out ronayers.com for the screw ur lookin for those guys are awesome with the online microfich and prices are good to all factory parts.

I havent driven it yet, its been sitting since like november. I tried putting a 18mm socket and it wont fit in that hole so i dont know how to take the plug out. I took it for a little ride like in first gear and it didnt feel like first gear like it had no low end the power seemed to come in at high end is that normal?

I know what ur talkin about with the socket thing. I had problem too. I got mine from sears. Its a real thin wall socket 18mm. But i'll tell ya what i did first off is i got an old 18mm and put it on my bench grinder and milled it down myself. It worked but looked like ****. Be seriously before u go jumpin to any conclusions u need to check that plug and put a new on in. Depending on the year of ur bike mine is an '02 and it takes an NGK DPR8Z gapped at .025. Thats just what I would do because a bad plug can really make it run bad or not at all u'd be surprized. U can pick a new plug up from ur local napa for about $2.50. Let me know what u come up with. I'll be around if u need me

Only problem is its not my socket lol. I thought it takes a dpr8ea-9.

What year is ur quad because the dpr8z is the right one i'm positive of that. I mean that is the one that the manufactor calls for and it works great for me. I got the factory service manual right here in front of me.

Hm i thought it was dpr8ea but maybe thats ngks number. The plug wasnt changed to long ago though. I do know the gas has been in there since november so i dont know if its bad. Maybe it just needs a good riding to get it running right.

you dont need to mill them down. mine out of my socket set fits fine. y does everyone think that you have to mill them down?

The reason u have to mill them down is because some sockets are too thick. U just got lucky and had the right one. I went through two before i found one that would fit.
