Probably is just condensation from the exhaust.

Probably could use new valve seals and guides but by the sounds of it its not bad yet.

well its also got the 416 kit in it. someone told me with the forged piston i have in it, then its normal to do that at the beginning of start up.... but i dunno... ha

Did you just rebuild it?

Getting a little blue smoke on a cold engine if you rev it is normal.
Let it warm up before you touch the gas =)

lol, yeah, my friend just got an 01 400ex and he started it cold and i told him 10000000000 times to never rev it up cold but he did it anyways... Looked soooo cool but totally not worth it. There was blue smoke everywhere it was like a smokeshow but now it doesnt run. Kid turned to me after it shut off and he was like why wont it start?? That was like the 5th day he had it. lol suckerrrrr.

An engine should not burn oil ever at less oil is getting by the valves or past the piston. Its 100% the valves!!! Valve seals and/or guides. They don’t cost too much to replace. If their leaky which happens to all engines after awhile once you park it oil leaks on to them and you start the engine up and the oil on them burns off creating bluish smoke on start up. My 400ex was so bad that it would smoke up the whole yard and smoke for a good minute.
It’s going to get worse and worse as you ride. But I drove for a long time like that and nothing bad ever happened. I think you might have less power till you fix it. Might start harder to.
Revving a cold engine has less chance of burning oil since it’s at its thickest when cold making it harder to seep threw. .

yeah i was thinking it might be the valves, but the 416 kit wasnt done tooo long ago. like i said before tho, it only smokes a bit nothing major at all. i started it today and put it into my truck and it hardly did it, guess its not tooo bad then.. I plan on bringing it into my honda dealership to have them fix things on it anyways, things i cant do on my own.............. thanks for the info guys....

Yeah, if it goes on long enough you'll hafta start it with full throttle and thats the only way its gona run.
