Main bearing replacement???

Hey guys, is it pretty common to just replace your main bearings and seals and leave the others alone? All of my other bearings seem to be in really good shape and I don't want to replace them if I don't have to.

upon warshing all of the bearings in the cases. its a good time to inspect them for play and smoothness. if all checks out then they are ok.

usually only change the mains, but check them all for smooth operation and no noise.

When you drive out the main crank bearings do you drive them out from the inside or from the outside?

they are both to be removed in the inside direction. the easiest thing to do is to heat up the case from the opposing side with a propane torch prior to bearing removal.
