Carb questions

Project Black is an 04 with a stock carb.

It has 480cc motor with DASA Porting and a HRC Cam at 12.5:1 cr.

Would it be worth upgrading the carb? If so which one? and why?

IMO an 07 CRF450R carb taper bored to 43mm.
And a NOSS Machines adapter bored to match it.
Or who ever u have bore it might use their own adapter.

I have one on my 05 and its not even bored and it made a huge difference in throttle response.

yea my carb bored by DASA came stock on my 2006 trx450r cost 250 if you take it off yourself. 2006 and up carb much better cant tell u why in detail but works, its really a good aftermarket carb on a stock bike. also DASA will put in a 2007 cr450 neddle that has a differnt profile and more slots so you can move the c clip up or down when jetting and fine tuning that beast.:devil:

:D good call. talk to Chad at DRG. he can do the whole thing for ya. worth every penny since you have a big motor already. the 07 crf's are the best ones so far. they updated a few things that add to the overall performance.

If u go with an FCR of an 06+ TRX you'll either have to grind the top of the carb off where the throttle cable goes in. Or heat the bottom of ur gas tank and remold it a little for the carb to find under it.
Also you won't have hot start.

If u go with any year CRF carb it will fit perfect and have hotstart.
Just have to switch over the TPS plug.
