Im going to be buying a dvx400 and im wondering wit there is anything specific i should be looking for. Im buying it used most likely going to be a 2004. Anything i should be aware of? I hear these things are soild. If i can't find a dvx i also would consider the ltz/kfx considering there all the same.

If i get a 2004 im going to put 450r shocks up front. But i have not seen many if any 2005's for sale around me.

Beware of the frame welds around the front shocks on the 03-04 models. They were not guesseted well enough and crack. Look at every frame weld there at the front of the quad. I've seen them crack in several places other than just the shock mounts.

Otherwise when you get it home check the tension on the timing chain and your valve clearance. The timing chains as well as the valves are known to be weak on all model year z/kfx/dvx400's. Other than these couple items they are VERY reliable quads and are really quite bullet proof.
