Do the 416's accelerate faster than the 440's? In what ways is the 440 more powerful then the 416 or 426?

if your askin because u want to bore out ur bike 416 is the way to go, best performance for the least engine risk.

Its all in what you do to it. Cam, compression, carb, head work, etc. Most 416's will run pretty decent with most 440's. If its your first build, do a 416. You will be very happy with it.

also going with a 440 it would be best to go with bigger studs cause if you dont change them out it makes it a bit easier to blow a head gasket

Eventually yes I will be boring it. Probably when it starts smoking.
I have to be able to keep up with my two friends that ride 450's...both are piped, have a cam and one of them has an FCR carb as well. So I'm lookin for something with a good amount of power.
