ATV Specialist?

So I notice down where it shows everyone currently online there are labels for: Supermoderator, Moderator, Member, and ATV Specialist.

I understand them all except ATV Specialist. What the heck is an ATV Specialist?

Used to have more who frequented the boards like Jeff@thequadshop, Colby and Dusty, Andy Ladzgins, etc. Seemed like it was most site sponsors

Just as the name implies, it's a certain classification that can be given to select members that indicates their specialty and knowledge.

We know there are shop owners, engine builders, and racers in the general membership, and this is a way of highlighting those members, and letting the general membership know that this is a person that is highly knowledgable in his area. For example, if Curtis Sparks joined the membership tomorrow, he could be highlighted as a specialist.

Unfortunately, not too many specialists have stuck around, I wish I knew how to remedy that.

I dont think there is a remedy. I know keeping the site free and clear of members that do nothing but pick fights with this type of person is one step, but it can only go so far in getting a well rounded group of knowledgable folks to openly post tech info above what even a good mechanic can.

The way I see it, we keep the site clean, free of non stop fighting and make it as inviting as we can to those in the industry so that they know they have a place to help without getting beat upon for their view on a technical problem.

The thing we can not change is time, and the top folks have little of it.

i know i don't see mickey dunlop posting anymore. i see borich gets on here alot. alot of others to. but they don't post which is understandable.
