wow another senseless post that has nothing to do with quads. anybody that knows anything about atvs or bikes should know that a 250 of any kind will kill a 125. DUH:mad:

they top out at 76 or so and 125's do upper about 67-70. per dirt wheels. the yzf 400-426-450 will hit 80, well the 450 has to change the rear sprocket to a 50 then it will hit 80

Then you just change the sprocket on a YZ250 as well to beat it once again :p

My '97 CR250 was pretty fast. I have had it tapped out in 6th but I didn't have my GPS on me to see how fast it was. Definately faster than the cars on the road we were riding on :devil

cr250's only have 5 spds.

and the gear ratio for the 450f from yammi is diff because it is a four spd. but if you change the back sprocket to a 50 it will give you the same final ratio as the 426 in 5th. ya see

CR250's are 6 speeds. If you would like to come over and ride it i'll show you. CR125's (the newer ones) are 5 speeds.
I'm pretty sure the YZ426, CRF450R, etc are all 5 speeds. I've never heard of a 4 speed dirt bike.

Oops, just went and checked and CR250s are 5 speeds. Thats wierd, I could have sworn they are 6 like my 250R quad. Oh well, I guess that reflects the MX purpose of the bike! I pity the fool that runs my R for top speed. lol

ktm uses 6 gears on most of their bikes, and thats why they weigh a tad more than the competitors, i belive their 125 wieghs in at 200 even, and the heaviest MAIN 125 is like 190ish, the new yami 450 is 4speed, wich i think is dumb, but whatever, im not buyin it
