I HEARD IT FROM MY DEALER!!!!! read this!

I WAS ON THE PHONE TO MY DEALER ORDERING TIRES AND I HERED THEM TALKING IN THE BACKROUND ABOUT A 500EX! it's a brand new liquid cooled engine hot off honda's drawing board said to put out about 50 - 55 horse stock! a compleatly redesigned frame wil also come with it and it will come with race cut fenders off the floor! Yosh is said to be already making performance parts for this quad to be released june of 2003 as a 2004 model! YEAH! it is said to take ANYTHING currently out there including their own legendary 250R. Also OEM on this machine wil be your choice of Elka or Pep shocks! stay tuned for more..... anybody else hear about this quad?

I talked with my dealer when I was getting the EX. He said yes, there is something in the works. BUT they arent releasing due in part to the 400EX sales...and all the safety issues that have been coming up. He thought they would release it in late 03 early 04. From the specs he heard (didnt tell me) he knows ill will take pretty much anything and everthing in site. He also figured its gonna be in that 7K range.......

BUT, its all speculation. We just have to wait and see. Ill tell you what tho, Ill be one of the first on that list if the rumors are true and thats what I feel they are right now, rumors. Regardless of what dealer or whoever told me. I agree with Chad....Ill believe it when I see it.

lol i am in no way saying its true or trying to start anything. personally i think the shock part is fake, but i have been hearing of a new motor and frame for quite a while now. it may be bs, it may be true, but lets face it, ANYTHING would be better than nothing am i right?

u must have EXCELLENT ears and have been on the phone for a while to overhear them talking about that, and to get it in that much detail. I personally am in tight with one of the bigger honda dealers in PA, and i was just there lasntihgt, and they are saying the same thing. they are waiting till the next big dealer show to hear ANYTHING. My guess is that they might have been talking about the FST 500ex. They made it for woods racing. I could be wrong, but thats where my money would go. I dont see honda making a new engine for us. Quit waiting and buy a c-dale if the 400 doesnt have the beans for ya.

I recently talked with a sales rep at my dealer and he said that a 500EX was in the making and it is said to be relieced sometime late 03 or early 04. I do think that honda has something in the making but after all of the BS i've heard, I'm not believing it till I see it in person on the showroom floor with a FOR SALE tag on it, then I will believe!

Well I am pretty sure that honda will some day come out with something new. I doubt it will be soon but still lets keep our fingers crossed. We all have been hearing the same rumor and maybe its true, maybe its not. Honda can't keep the 400ex forever they have to keep the competition up and right now the 400ex is going down hill.

Even with the 500ex. That would suck because that motor is over the cc limit in certain classes and if you did want to race it (in these certain classes) You would have to sleeve it down. I would not like to own anything bigger than a 440 4-stroke because that is what is raced.:confused:

i doubt it, i have heard that honda is mabye coming out with something but it was going to be based of of the 450 motor, but that is all just speculation, and i will believe when i see, which will probably never happen.

a 500 is a little crazy, i seriously doubt that will happen ever!!!

There's been rumors going around for MORE THAN 2 FREAKIN' YEARS! I remember waiting for the count down of the 2001 models! Then 2002, THEN 2003....... hmmm...is there a pattern here? I dont feel like making another post that takes up 4 pages on why honda wont make a real quad....
Actually a 500 motor would be a better candidate. It'll sell more and its all about the numbers (cc's that is).
Do you really think honda cares about this sport enought to put some serious R&D time into a quad?
