View Full Version : Saw Daryl Rath racing Predator

I watched Daryl Rath racing the new Predator this Sunday in Staples, MN. I have to say that I wasn't impressed with the Predator. I have watched Daryl Rath race for quite a few years now and think that he is was faster on his Leager framed LRD 330. I will have to say that Daryl is very fast and he flies on whatever he rides. The track that he was racing on Sunday was very tight and technical, there weren't very many really nice 250Rs there. So, once again, I am not impressed with the Predator.

Yeah, I kinda agree. I saw him race at the McLeod county fair, and Cody Anderson (teammate) beat him on a two-stroke in the final heat. It seemed to dog it out of the corners. We'll see though.

Cody beat Daryl.....huh. I used to race with Cody when he first started on Blasters. Knowing Daryl, I'm suprised that they are still teammates. Daryl isn't very happy when someone beats him.
I holeshotted him once and he tried to shove my front end into a steel post. At the race this Sunday, he was coming around the last corner on the last lap when he rear-ended a lapper and ended up getting stuck together. They pulled and pulled and couldn't get them apart. I think he came in second to last.

Hey do you know Greg Gilman? He rides with Daryl (I've ridden with Greg twice but not Daryl). Greg and Cory Hansen that I've ridden with were in Huevos 4 with Daryl and Cody.

Yeah, I know Greg. I used to race with Greg back in the day. He was in Staples also with his EX. He's a great guy.

Are there any upcoming races? I ask as a spectator, is that the indoor track? I've never raced but may try the county fair this year just for fun. I'm 31 and been away from atv's since I was 15, Just got a 99 400ex in August but I'm riding with some crazy dudes so I think I'm starting to get up to speed.

Isnt his Predator mostly stock, a 330R probably ain't very stock, I think the Predator just might suprise quite a few people with how well it performs.

Cody is also an A class rider at the nationals and Daryl races TT.. I have seen Cody beat Daryl at races in Waconia also so whatever... I also seen them Race at the hutchinson fair and that was BY FAR the best race all night seeing talent like that going around the track! It is also pretty impressive how a stock predator can keep up with such a modded 250r as much as it did, very close

Ever since those quads came out the mags have been pumping them. Same with the V force. I have yet to try one out. Thanks for the info.

OK, I know that it is an unfair comparision (330R vs. Predator), but I am referring to Daryl saying "This is the best quad I have ever ridden". If that statement is true than Daryl thinks the Predator is better than his 330R. That's what I was referring to.

I was driving home from work and stopped in at St.Boni Motorsports and ran into Cody Anderson (Rath Racing). I asked him his opinion on the Predator. He said "If I were to run a stock-style quad, I would race it". He says the shocks are pretty good, that it was a bit slow in the low end. They added the pipe and that jumped it 8hp. Then then added a YZ426 Carb, he said it went great.

i need to go watch some of those races. i think the predator looks good and it most likely is but i wouldnt own one unless i got a heck of a deal.
