I have heard that the kick start had alittle bit more power than the electric start.I have been on both & they felt the same, but 450's don't impress me much anyways.

The 450's don't impress you? Thats a unique remark.

Anyhow, on the topic, the 06 and up have a higher compression piston and I believe slightly different valvetrain or head specs. There will be a slight advantage on for the 06's and up compared to the earlier models, but not much.

Sorry I kinda worded that wrong.I ment that they felt the same and one 450 did not impress me more than the other.Sorry about that again,I kinda was in a hurry and left some words out.I love honda 450's if I could I would buy one now.I hope I did not make anyone mad.

There's definitely a difference between the 04/05's and the '06+. But concerning an '06+ kicker vs. an '06+ electric start, I've never seen anything suggesting the kicker makes measurably more power. The kicker weights 5 or 10lbs less though.

Easy there. I wasn't directing my comment at you. I'm just answering the original question.

Along with the weight savings of the kicker, the timing is slightly advanced compared to the electric start version.

In order to allow the electrical starting system to work properly, timing is retarded slightly.

I doubt that most would be able to notice these though, since they are very minor.

Lol... Its cool lots of people don't like the hondas, it just kinda surprised me when it said that the 450's in general didn't impress.

Still yet, to each his own. Happy riding!
