Hi I'm pretty new to this forum and just rebuilt my 400EX engine. I went too http://www.robbsracingengines.com/400EXPAGE for a race motor. The kit I put in has the 440cc mod w/ a fcr 41mm carb, high rpm cam, HD valve springs, shortened valve guides, hard welded rocker arms, oversize stainless valves, Porting, HD head studs, HD crank & rod, lightened flywheel, and a +6 degree timing key. The engine is very strong, pulls hard and revs very quick (450 quick). Power out of the corners are smooth and fast, and it has that extra blip of power off the lips of jumps. Reliability is claimed to be very good but mine is too new to really see. If you have more questions about my new engine, feel free to PM me I'll get back to this review when I get to ride it some more. Later.

It will be interesting to see how quick this thing is cause I live in the same area, maybe even a drag race or something would be possible?? I live in Ham Lake on the border of Andover.

How does the +6 degree key work for the 440?I was under the impression it was designed for the 416 and stock bore motors:confused:

With that kind of money you should be killing 450s!

What compression are you running?

The degree key works with the shaved flywheel to make it rev quicker, advances the timing curve and makes the spark happen faster. Like an aircraft magneto. It works great in my 440. I'm running 11:1 compression so I can still use premium. As for a drag race, maybe. You would feel awfull after I kick your but with the same size engine.

11:1 with a +6 degree timing key would make for one hot 440! I know in my world it would never run right on pump gas. That's cool it's working for you somehow.
