A revalve will make some difference but changing the springs will help even more. I was 215 lbs when got my 2006 and the fronts were stiff even for the track.

My wife just got a 2008 for the trails and they are way too stiff. I am 188 lbs right now. I just sent all 3 shocks to Colby at C&D to have them modified and revalved. The rear will be a single spring with a Lonestar shock linkage. The fronts will be a dual spring setup. They are getting revalved for XC and a 120 lb rider so I will be SOL for riding her quad. :ermm: I am stuck on the 400ex for the trails which was okay before I road the 450r in the trails.

I believe I read on GT thunders website that the 2006 and up are set up for 225lb riders.

Not 100% on that, but it sure feels like it!

04 and 05 had a lighter spring weight so if the 06 and up are 225LBS then I would assume the 04 - 05 are maybe 200LBS? I would like to know as well what they are setup for. The 05 I have arent bad at all but they could be more plush which is where the revalve and respring comes into play.

You better put all your stuff on and weigh yourself. Think about it...your helmet is at least 3 lbs (if it is carbon fiber) then add your goggles, boots, socks, gloves, chest protector, pants, underwear, and jersey. This has to be about 12-15 lbs...boots aren't light...then account for knee protection, kidney belt, and Leatt if you wear them.

maybe his 170 isnt right out of the shower, maybe it was with jeans and a shirt and shoes...

and becaue underwear would be both, my jeans weigh more than my riding pants do, shirt/jersey. boots more than shoes though, and of course helmet and everything. but also, what gear is he talkign about, when Im in the dunes I wear my riding pants, helmet/goggles and gloves it all. only wore the chest protector when racing.

I weight around 265, I am surprised how much I can throw at them. But they can only handle so much, I am starting to bottom out on some of the bigger jumps, and that just hitting the take-off. I think it's time for some suspension!.
