Hey guys I was reading a few posts and someone mentioned something about "if you have an aftermarket cam dont let it idle"
So anyways it got me curious, are you not supposed to let an aftermarket cam idle?

For the first engine start with a new cam, you want to keep the rpms up above a fast idle (above 2000 rpm) and either ride around easy or keep a fan in front of it if you're going to run it without riding. It needs to stay above 2000 rpm for about 20 minutes or so before allowing it to idle (barring any mechanical problems, of course). If you have a new piston or rings, don't worry about them, they'll be fine. It's much more critical to break in the cam properly.
