sprocket experience?

just curious if anyone has a 17/38 setup with an 18" rear tire.

i was lookin at the calculator for a min..and relized that it was always set up with 20" actual tire size..so i went n measured and only have 18..well like 18.5ish..but anyway..thats only like 62-63mph with stock gearing at 8250rpm..which im not sure is stock or not? thats whats set in the calculator..

so i was thinking how could i bump that to 70mph..a 17t will do pretty much that 69..so i was just curious how it felt if any one has experience with that?...

right now i just have a pretty stock bike..exhaust slip on k&n filter grinded down header about to install a sparks ignition key..and probably a stage 1 cam soon as well..so any help..i appreciate it..

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a 17 t front sprocket will even fit with the chain on.

i went on the calculater and with a 18 inch tire go with a 16 in the front and a 34 on the back it will go 73

i think i could do maybe 35 or 6..i dont want to loose to much low end..i want it to be pretty balanced out but definitely faster..since right now its only about 60mph

The least amount of gear you can put on a 400ex (all top end speed) is a 16/36 combo, which is what im running right now.

Even with my 440, it wont pull all the way out, and its extremely sluggish. Im only using this gearing combo, until my new sprockets arive, then im goign back with a 14/36 like I had originally.

I have 15/38 with 18" on my 440 with stock rev limiter and a local sheriff clocked me at 66mph. Im with blaster, I dont think a 17 will even fit.

i wasnt really sure..but i do want a little more top end..just tryin to figure out combos thanks for the advice
