i want more top end for my 400 and i was thinking a sprocket. I have a few questions,
1. do i want the front or rear sprocket?
2. sense i want more top end more or less teeth?
3. and can u actually tell that much from just changing it?

thanks!

For more top end you go up in the front and or down in the back. 1 tooth up on front is roughly 3 down in the rear. You will notic a difference as long as you dont gear too high, then your motor may not beable to pull it.

If you want more top end for your bike you can either go up in the front sprocket or down in the back sprocket... I think that the front sprocket is the way to go because its only like $10

Stock sprockets are
1999-2004 15F/38R
2005-UP 14F/39R

Changing the front sprocket one tooth doesn't require a chain length alteration.

Front sprockets are much cheaper than the rear.

The stock case saver will have to "modified" if you install a larger sprocket.

I would like to know how to mod the case saver to fit, because when I'm running my 16 tooth sprocket the case saver doesn't fit.
