You have to use the spindles and everything from the 450 and I think it might work. But I'm not sure.

The Z400 hubs are 24 spline, need to find out if this will work.

You're talking about the rear hubs... I get it now. All years 250R interchange rear hubs. The 400EX hubs and 450R hubs will not work on a 250R axle. I don't know about the Z400 though...
