Decided to try a regular BR9ES gapped at .018 thousands and could't believe the difference. Have always ran the Iridium and have wandered why it always took so long to warm up. It seems that the longer you ride it the better it ran. After switching plugs it runs good right after start-up. Maybe that expensive plug takes that much more time to heat up. Am very happy with the BR9ES!

Thats odd, Duncan told me that it would start right up with one. But it would foul them like crazy when trying to ride it. I didnt really see why it would matter either. ESR and other builders dont recommend the iridium plug

Just goes to show, every engine is a little different, and some a little more quirky than others.

I ain't never had a single problem with my Iridium plug, starts and runs like a champ each and every time.

I couldn't tell you how it behave when I first start it up, though. I ALWAYS let it warm up. I'm not about to risk a seizure.
