Hopefully this can be made a sticky. I like finding ways to improve something, especially if it involves using parts from something newer and will still look like it was made for a 250R. I don't know how much of a problem this is out west, but here in Ohio we have nasty, clay type mud that's heavy and after repeated exposure will cause your back fenders to break, usually from under the seat out to the "grab handles" on the fender. The first pic shows the signs of the fender flexing, which is the small "humps" in the grab handle area. My mod for this will only work on 88-89 and aftermarket chassis 250R's, but something may be modded to work with the 86-87's. This uses both rear fender brackets from a 450R, all you need to come up with is a small angle bracket and a rubber grommet to support the fender.

My seat latch uses a piece of 1/8" aluminum stock, two 7/16 fine thread bolts, and the hardest part of this latch to find, two rocker arm Poly-locks from a big-block Chevy. The Poly-locks fit the factory 250R grommets perfectly. I use hitch pin clips and washers to secure the seat, but you can use wing-nuts if you like. This has been on for about 5 years and has held up very well.

I don't know about a sticky, but it would certainly fit well in the "How To" section.
