cleaning my engine

i am wanting to clean my engine up and i have a few questions:

1) What can i use to clean the baked on mud off of my crankcase, jug, and heads?

2) What can i use to get the silver paint off of the clutch and crankcase cover?

3) after i do all of this, what can i use to polish the engine?

1) Soap and a toothbrush

2) Paint Stripper or a good paint thinner

3) You would have to do multiple hours of sanding for it to even look good or you can get a polishing wheel that makes it easier.
