450r accessory power?

i am unsure where i can get electrical power for any accessorys that i may want to add, like idk where i can tap into a place to get 12v power, can i splice into the the wires coming off of the stator or is there too much voltage? i will need a place where there is always power, and a 12v source

any help is greatly appreciated

This is on an 04/05 right? If it's an 06+ you could just get 12v straight off the battery. For an 04/05 I'd think you'd want to tap into the power downstream of the regulator. Tapping into power after the key switch would seem to make sense but maybe it doesn't matter as long as your tap point is post-regulator. You wouldn't want to take it straight off the lighting coil since it wouldn't be regulated to 12v yet.

I'm a little shaky on my electrical though. I'm sure there's a best way to do what you're trying to do--probably someone around here knows.

What are you trying to run and how much power does it need?

well i was thinking of wiring up some leds and/or running a nitrous solenoind of there too, and they both run on 12v. this is a 05 also,

i may, i dont know if will be racing either, my quad is still torn down, but i may take up my stock one, my friend i know will be there for sure, he has a blue yfz with dmp graphics and a lrd exhaust. but if i do show up, see you there!

on this oem part finder, right behind the regulator and before the clip for the tail light there are two wires that are for accessories,

but idk if it is on the switch with the tail light, so i dont want whatever goes there to turn on every time i grab the brakes, does anyone know if its on the switch or not, i just retaped my harness and dont feel like untaping it to find out.

No, it's not connected to the brake light switch. That's pretty cool that they provide an accessory output. I didn't know that.

On the stock 250R wiring there are two extra wires by the taillight for accessories too. :)
