Warrior engine in my 300ex?

well my cousin has a 94 warrior and he might be selling it to get a dirt bike or new quad and i might buy it if he sells for cheap and maybe put the engine in my ex or just fix it up a lill its got a few mods supertrapp exhaust,kn filter, works shocks, renthal bars, jet kit and 15tooth counter sprocket and possibly a bore kit we arnt for sure it always blows mine away by for and even beats the 400exs

if it was me, and it was cheap... id buy it ..

not because id want it, but just to have.

itd make a good play quad, its got good shocks so it most likely rides better than your ex. just w/ more weight.

has it had any rescent engine trouble?
crashes?
anythnig that might change the value onthe quad: except its age.

again.. it really depends on how much he wants for it.

Even if he sold it to you cheap it would still be cheaper to mod the EX with a mild 330 kit that would be as fast. Well JMO anyway.

Buy it cheap, part it out on Ebay and use the money to mod the EX. Thats what I would do.

dont ever put a yamaha engine in a honda except a 450!

yamaha quads are the biggest peice of carp ive ever seen!

spend the money on mods for the 300

i've seen 300ex beat lots of warriors and they only had a coulple mods on it.:rolleyes: just goes to show ya who makes the superior machines

Yea, I would definately take the money you would spend on that warrior and use it for a 330 kit for the 300. I would be just as fast and a lot less work. Or use the money for a down payment on a 400EX, thats what I have and It rocks!

I agree..my friend has a warrior, and it is like riding a close ratio lazy boy compared to my 400. Would never buy one...he's ALWAYS having stupid little problems with it!

You couldn't possibly even think about putting a Yamaha engine in ANY Honda. That is just waste of a great frame if you put a warrior engine in your ex.

The warrior engine is low tech compared to the 300ex engine. the warrior engine is only a 2 valve, and the 300 engine is a 4 valve. The warrior engine is like 349ccs?? and the 300ex is like 282 and warrior beats the 300 by one mile per hour on top end. And there is a big difference in ccs with almost the same power. Mod your 300 motor.

i think some people are a little biased here..........

IMO the warrior is a great machine and superior to the 300ex. i dont want to hear you crying about it weighs a ton and the suspensin sucks and all of that, just because it says yamaha and aint red doesnt mean it is a bad quad. i used to own a warrior until i got a good deal on my 300ex -- unlike some people, i am not brand loyal -- i ride whatever i can and make my judgements from there

in conclusion, buy the warrior and if you dont like it, sell it

You could get more power outta the 300 motor more easily then the warrior engine, the warrior engine is 348ccs, the 300ex is 282, that is a 66cc difference. The warrior has about a half or one more horsepower then the 300ex, and the 300ex is 66cc's less then the warrior. That should tell you something.
