How do I get the seat on my 400ex to come up like this? I think it's awesome and was wondering if there was any way to do it on a 400. :D

Your gonna have a job on your hands there bro, think about how the ex seat has to slide farward.

if hes making a flip seat he doesnt need it to slide forward. all he needs is some type of latch on the front of the seat and a pivot mount on the rear as shown in the pic. you will also need an additional "subframe" type deal to support the seat like this guy did

that looks like a 250r lonestar frame. i dont know if they still make that or not. have not sceen them for a few years.

That is Justin Reeds walsh or leager yzf 250r geometry hybrid. with a flip top sub frame. if you want your 400ex fenders to do that you have to make soem sort of a pivit on the back near the grab bar. im goign to do this to my 400ex hybrid sub frame.

Hmmm would anyone want to make me one and I'll pay them? Haha I don't really have the tools or anything to do this but I know I could just don't want to buy anymore tools right now until I make some more room in the garage.

That quad is that way so you can kick start it without hitting the fenders I think. It would be a cool mod for an ex though:D

Like said above this is a QOTM i saw that is a hybrid, those are 250r plastics i believe, and i think if you could make a moch up pivot in the back and then just move the actual latch to the front would be my idea?? Good luck tho!

looks like a custom job you got on your hands.. but if you want it realy bad get a awelder and weld some latches on =).. and on the back some kind of hinges..

I think I'm just gonna ask the guy who owns the quad exactly what he did :D

I've built two fliptops.. I used two old heim joints as the pivot point, and made the actual structure out of 3/8" round stock. The stock 400ex rubber seat grommets work well for the latch. The rubber gives enough to get a shaft through, but is still a tight enough fit to hold the seat down. I'll get some pictures up here soon..and if you like what you see I could make one for you as well, but you'd have to mount it up yourself unless you want to ship me your subframe...

builtblaster88 sounds like you have a good idea. id like to see pics of that set up. im building a hybrid and i dont want to have to cut the rears to kick the mofo.

I would love pics of that and I'm pretty sure i could mount it...unless it's like REALLY hard but the way I picture it in my head it doesn't seem to hard to mount.
How much would you charge to make one?
