I live in WA and prices for used quads here are crazy so I bought one from this site out of Michigan and even after shipping saved a ton.

I would highly suggest picking up a TRX450R from a member on this site in the quads for sale section.

You could get a great quad for that price!

From what I see the yfz and ltr are the best other than the ktm which rules cand costs a lot. If you plan on staying near stock I would get the ltr450.

incase you didnt see he said he rides trails as well too. i know people that have the lt-r 450 and the cant stand ridding trails for 2 reasons....numero uno, its too friggen wide, its hard to negotiate any tight trail with a quad that wide, and numero dose' its too low to the ground.

trx 450r all the way dude. good useable power, comes factory with 20 inch tires, so ground clearance aint an issue, and it handles good in stock form as well, and best of all its a HONDA

Exactly, trail, dune, and the occasional MX all in one...

pretty much just take your color, but here would be my choices (from your discription) in order:

lime
yellow
neon yellow
orange (too pricey though)
red&white
red
blue

as you can see this analysis is very down to the tee :D
