speedy 300

i have a bone stock 300, with 20 inch tires. From all the reviews i hear it says that 400s spanks 300s. Well i went out with some 400s the other day and boy, i can keep up to them no prob. One was a 99 with an fmf powercore,dynojets, anda k@n. I could be ahead of him until 3rd gear. And the other is a stock 2002 and i stay right beside him until i have to fourth. so can anybody explain why im so speedy.?:eek:

well i weigh like 130 and they wiegh aboot 170 or so. so it evens out with the power to wieght ratio.

I think you got lucky off the start. 3rd and 4th gear? Thats like 20 seconds into the race. The start off is all driver not machine.

I agree with 300EXer! I too was tired of hearing that a 300 cant run with a 400! I have a 300 with little mods that i compete in crosscountry/hare scrambles with, i run in the A class and i'm usually the only 300 out there at times. I have smoked plenty of 400's especially in the open sections, the part i had the hard time was in the woods I couldn't manuver as good through the tight turns. But know i widend the machine out, that isn't a problem anymore! I have numerous trophies from 1st to 4th place to back me up as also alot of homevideos! It just proves my theory of "it isn't all machine its more of riding skills too"

With 20inch tires instead of the 22inch stock you are lowering your overall gearing, improving acceleration but dropping top speed. You get the holeshot, but in the higher gears the 400's out pull you.

sounds like they just get a ****ty launch, well it is good to hear that a 300 isnt that much slower than a 400, i always thought they were kind of fast:huh :devil :huh :huh :huh :huh :huh

its just like, 400 vs raptor, yeah a 400ex can keep up with a craptor through some gears but the craptor will pull away eventually.
