400ex air box cover

Hello, I'm new to this site. I have a 2001 honda 440ex, it has a K and N filter, but when I bought it it didnt come with the air box cover. It crossed my mind that maybe it doesnt fit with the K and N filter, since it sticks up just a bit, but does anybody know if they still fit? And if so, where can I pick one up cheap? Thanks.

yep, the lid will still fit with a k&n filter.. as far as finding one, either look on here for somebody parting out a 400 that may have one laying around, or look at service honda.. or you nearest honda dealer. i think they're around $15

Ok cool, thanks alot. I was just afraid taking it in any deep water getting any in the air box.

well it's not a good idea to run your engine without one since dirt can get in your cylinder and erode away the cyl wall faster.

It's more like water resistant than water proof. But yes, outerwear is a good idea.

yea just get am outerwear instead of an air box lid. it performs better without the lid.:macho

i don't think so?:D

it's an 1987 lt500 quadzilla motor with a really big pipe...and a few other mods...it is barely a 400 ex...nothing stock but the frame and steering stem..

Cool. Anybody happen to know where I could get new yellow stock front plastic for the 400ex? 2001. I just want the front, mine are racecut, kind of sucks in mud, and I wouldnt mind putting the lights back on. Unless I can find them really cheap i wont bother.
