That is impossible for us to do, we can't tell what will suit your riding the best. Both are great machies but they are different! Go sit on both and ride both, that is the only way you will know which YOU like better. There is more stuff out for the Raptor but the Outlaw is more comfortable for long days on the trails. You need to decide which is right for you, not rely on someone telling you which you should get.

the problem is we have only one polaris dealer in our country and he is far far away from my village
so i didn't saw any outlaw with my eyes

I have got a question on the Outlaw 525S.

I am also in the market for a new quad.

Maintenance is very important and I try to do it all myself.

On the valve adjustments for the Outlaw, are they the shim/bucket type like all the other 450's or are they similar to the easier type on the 400ex and Raptor where you do not have to take the cam out?

The KTM motor is the old school style, they are usally are done at 10hrs, 50, and intervals of 100hrs after that. Thats what the bikes are doing and don't have issues. Also pretty easy to do it yourself.

i personally think that both are great machines. ride both machines if possible and decide from there. i will never own another SRA quad again, but honestly, if polaris wouldn't have come out with the IRS outlaw i would have more then likely bought a raptor. both are awesome in the dunes, and i give the nod to the IRS outlaw on the trails. i don't think you will go wrong with either machine, it's just name brand preference.

they use four roller rockers. They are super easy to get to, two access covers that use 2 bolts each.

I haven't adjusted the valves yet on my wifes quad (08 outlaw S), but I've done them a handful of times on my 04 ktm 576 and they are a breeze.

I love the outlaw quad so far. My only complaints are the stock bars and the incredibly huge thumb throttle box.

I'll have it at the dunes this weekend with a coupl 700 rappy's I'll be sure to post back on how it does.

I was at little sahara dunes this week and me and all my brothers have Outlaws 525 IRS. I have to say they were awesome. We had next to no problems except my brother blew out his shock after a huge jump. ( It was big). There was a group of guys who were also there with Raptors. The raptors beat the outlaw on the drag up sand mountain. Yeah it was sad. The raptors had several more after market products on them so it wasn't totally fair. In the end the Outlaw was amazing on Jumps, rocks, trails, and sand it was great. not even a blip.

I wanted a raptor too when i started to look. Even after seeing my brothers get beat I still love my outlaw. I never regreted my choice to get an outlaw.

My vote...Outlaw!

I was in the same bind last month i went with the outlaw 525 IRS for these reasons.
1. Looks Bad ***
2. Same engine performance as raptor
3. better shocks (fox podiums) and its a lot wider making it more stable
4. felt the right size
5. IRS 10+ inches of ground clearence
6. Ktm engine which is rare in a quad thats not KTM
7. Everywhere i go there are always raptors and yfz's more than likey you'll b the only one with a 525 outlaw
8. Price got mine for $6300 brand new 2008

I think polaris has a winner on their hands
Hope this helps

P.S. will never go back to straight axle again
