hey i am just in the process of ordering a linkage to use with my stock 06 swingarm and a 17.5" elka elite rear shock. I've heard good and bad things about elka's pro-dual linkage and not too much about the lonestar DC-6. Any input to help my decision would be greatly appreciated.

The LSR DC6 only uses a 16-3/8" shock.

The Elka Pro Dual for the 05 swinger uses a 17" shock so I'm guessing that for the 06 swinger it will prolly use something close to a 17.5.

What kind of link is the shock valved/sprung for?

it came off of one of john natalie's 06 practice quads, i'm not sure on the linkage but it was a single style link with a roll design swing arm. The shock is a single rate as well.

Check out the Teixeira Tech linkage. I love mine! www.teixeiratech.com

if money wasn't an issue i'd already have bought a teixeira linkage cause all i've heard about them is great things but i really only have the choice between the dc-6 and the elka.

Arn't the Elka and Tex links both around $400?

You could prolly find the Elka link used though.

last i checked the tex was around $500 and i can get a new elka for $300, and the DC-6 for $245, the tex may have come down but i dont think i'll be able to fit it into my budget build

The shock would be too long for the DC-6 linkage.
