Hey all, I have an 05 KFX 50 and I need some info on removing the CVT collar. I can't find any posts relating to this as it seems to be old news. Any info would be appreciated. I have removed all of the other restrictors from the machine but would also like other info on CDI upgrades, Exhaust etc. Thanks!

Does anyone reading this thread have any info they can give me??? I know I have seen this info on this site before but it was quite a while ago. I am attempting to save a few dollars by performing the work myself, The guys at Pro-Caliber are asking alot of money for the work and I understand it is fairly easy to do.
If someone could please help me out that would be great!

if that's a 05 it should be a 2 stroke oil injected which does not have a cvt collar in it , the 4 stroke 50's have the collar, i thought that was 06 and up i could be wrong though, i've never removed one myself

i just got the cdi from ct racing and i can tell you that it makes the little ltz 50 run 10 times better. its a four stroke and i would imagine both quads have the same motor. i cut my spark arrestor off, drilled the end cap to a 5/8 hole, removed all the restrictors, added the cdi, and an intake. its like a whole different quad. runs awsome
