amount of oil for 2007 trx400

i changed the oil for the first time today. the manual said 1.8 quarts(57.6 ounces). ran it for approx 3-4 minutes, when i checked it a few minutes later oil showed about 1/4 inch on the dip stick. i then added 5 ounces, that got it to read 1/2 way between the lower and upper mark. HOW MUCH DOES THIS ACTUALLY HOLD FOR THE PROPER AMOUNT? i also changed the oil filter to. thanks

I have the same year, make, and model. Its kinda tricky,but I always end up putting almost 2 quarts in. I usually have about 100ml left in the last bottle. Be real careful with your oil filter cover, the bolts break like pretzels. Hand tight if I were you
