i have the worst luck!

how bought these apples. i decided to have my 400 bored to a 440. went to pull the motor and found that the swingarm pivot bolt and bearings were bent and crushed. then...3 months lata when i got it back, i blew a head gasket in the first 8 hours of use. found out a stud was stripped out in the head. waited and got the new cometic hd head gasket, got helicoils in the studs, and put it BACK together. in the next 4 hours of use, it blew again. now, i found that my piston and sleeve are scored beyond repair and the sleeve was never seated properly. now i have to wait 2 weeks to get the 89.5mm piston then 2 more weeks to get it installed.

I bought a 1999 400ex not running right pulled a part motor and found heliocoils with threaded rod holding cylinder head on, hacker central so I bought used 400ex cylinder on ebay and am having 440 sleeve put in now, also swingarm bearings crushed as well.. I feel your pain man. it all about being a little faster thaN THE NEXT GUY!

Well I think I have had worse. My quad has been in the shop more than its been out. I find a new big problem every 5 hours of riding time.

yea, i can look on the bright side that now ill have a 450EX. and ill have a new JE piston that most people have told me are better. if it breaks again, im sellin the darn thing and im goin for those fuel injected, american made, aluminum framed, 432cc bikes!
