cam lobe wear?

whats the worse that could happen if i use a head with worn cam lobes?

It may not open the valves up all the way.

a guy at a place called twisted powersports in bloomington illinois said it might make the cam jump around causeing the timing chain to come off. im looking for a second opinion before i buy a new head.

If it's just the lobes, then you won't get as much lift and you may mess up the followers. Why not just get a new cam?
