What should I do to :tune up" my quad?

Ever since I got my quad, I just rode and rode it.

2001 Honda 440EX Quad

10. Quick adjust clutch lever

12. Aftermarket Aluminum Airbox

What are some things I should go threw? like setting the valves and stuff? I just got a stock carb of ebay for it since the edlebrock one on it is junk. The guy said it was tuned for a 440ex which mine is to.. How do I go about setting the carb up for it, or tunning it?

I do have the service manual for it on the PC also.

What are some things to look out for?

I know i need a new K&N airfilter and outerbag, Mine is so dirty, and the fins in the filter are all bent to **** and stuff.

What do you guys use to clean up the motor to get any grease and crap off? specialy by the front sproket?

There are many ways to get the dirt off. Just yesterday I think it was being debated actually. People say Dish Soap is the best for getting grease off(I haven't tried it yet) or else any good degreaser like Green Stuff etc... That should get most the grease off, might have to do some scrubbing to get it off the sprocket, they are a pain. As for tune up, New brakes, Oil Change, lube up the chain, Valve adjustment and clean your filter or if its really that bad get a new one. Other than that, there isn't much more.

Ya, I need some new brakes forsure, Oil Change to. I think im going to get a new K&N filter and outer bag, clean up the airbox inside better, I have a new battery coming. Need to find some hard foam to line the battery with in there. The only one was just jiggling around i there pretty much with the bracket still holding it.
